What makes RATIONALE skincare different?

Our skincare formulations are built upon the six pillars of
skin health: a system of three collections for daytime protection,
followed by three for overnight repair, providing all of the skin’s
daily nutrients at the correct concentrations. In the morning, skin’s protective barrier function supported by Vitamin-B Complex, multi-vitamin antioxidant defence, and environmental and solar protection offered by Zinc Oxide, Melanin and Iron Oxides.
At night, barrier function replenishment via Ceramides and Lipids, recalibration of skin pH with Hydroxy Acids and peptides, and cellular renewal delivered by Vitamin A, Bakuchiol and DNA Repair Enzymes.

What is a RATIONALE skincare ritual?

A RATIONALE Ritual is a curated sequence of formulations
applied each morning and evening. The AM Ritual focuses on protection against solar and environmental damage, while the PM Ritual supports overnight renewal. Formulations are layered in the order of our numbered system, from cleansing through to treatment serums and crèmes.

What are Skin Identical Formulations?

Skin Identical formulations contain active ingredients – including Antioxidants, Ceramides, Lipids, Peptides, and Vitamins – that closely mirror the skin's own composition. This compatibility allows
ingredients to be optimally absorbed and delivered into the skin, supporting barrier function and eliciting visible results without compromising sensitivity. This commitment to formulation science is the cornerstone of RATIONALE's evidence-led approach to skincare.

Which RATIONALE Collection should I use?

The Essential Six Collections are built upon the six pillars of skin health, defined by key actives. By day, The Strengthening Collection offers Vitamin B Complexes for strengthened barrier function, The Brightening Collection harnesses Vitamin C for antioxidant defence, and The Brilliance Collection utilises Zinc Oxide and antioxidants for SPF protection.
At night, The Nourishing Collection heroes ceramides and lipids for barrier replenishment and fortification, The Refining Collection harnesses Hydroxy Acids and peptides for skin pH refinement and support, and The Rejuvenating Collection is based around Vitamin A and DNA Repair Enzymes for renewed skin turnover.
Ideally, your skincare ritual should support each of these natural functions with a formulation from Essential Six Collection or step.

Yes. RATIONALE formulations are created in our world-leading laboratory using ingredients designed to support skin barrier
function, while comforting and visibly calming the complexion. The
Strengthening and Nourishing Collections are particularly recommended for skin prone to redness or sensitivity. We suggest introducing active formulations gradually and consulting the Client Services Team or a RATIONALE Skin Therapist for personalised guidance.

All RATIONALE formulations are designed and manufactured in Australia, in our world-leading laboratory in the Macedon
Ranges, Victoria. Each formulation undergoes rigorous clinical testing to ensure efficacy, stability, and sensorial quality. Our Australian heritage and dermatology-led research are central to every formulation we create.

How long will it take to see results from RATIONALE skincare?

Visible results typically emerge within four to six weeks of consistent use, aligned with the skin's natural renewal cycle.
Hydration and comfort may be noticed sooner, while changes in tone, clarity, and firmness develop over subsequent months. Consistency within your AM and PM Ritual is essential to lasting outcomes.
